The building and construction industry in Polk County is not that different from construction in other counties.

The same thing holds true with builders in different counties.
Polk County is a whole different market then the larger counties such as Hillsbourgh and Orange counties
which surround it.
The larger builders in Polk County are "big fish in a small pond" taken out of their environment and their safe little pond and they would be eaten up by the building trends and innovative ideas from the larger counties.
Polk County is growing and eventually new ideas will take hold...it just takes a little while longer.
The building industry like any other business field unfortunately is a slave to the ole mighty dollar, much of the creativity
and innovative ideas get lost by the "budget" and time constraints of the bottom line.
Get the job done as fast as possible, no matter what the cost to the sub contractors.
Don't forget to ask...
Was there anything done that did not meet the satisfaction of
the homeowner and if so was it corrected without any
problem?
What about the finish work? Were all problems with the finish
work quickly resolved?
After the homeowner moved into the house, were there any
problems with the construction detected? If so, did the
builder-contractor respond to the request and resolve any
problems in a timely manner?
Talk to some of the sub-contractors pass and present...
were they paid on a timely manner?

Many of the larger most popular builders in Polk County
Seem to have the mind set to get the job done by any means...
without any concern for who they are introducing into your home and neighborhood.
Are the sub contractors they hire to come into your home and new neighborhood, trustworthy or of good character.
Please be sure to ask you the builder you are considering about their sub contractors.
If you are in Polk County or Lakeland Florida, specifically ask them about
Sex Offenders.
Believe it or not one of the most popular sub contractors hired by many builders in this area is a
registered sex offender.
Since these builders would be highly upset if I singled them out,
please do you own research and ask questions.
Now granted most of the contracting above is new construction and they assume there is no worries since it is not your home.
But it is going to be your neighborhood.
The same can not be said for interior designers or decorators of Polk County. Research, research, research!
